Job Description

Boeing's Defense, Space and Security, Strategic Missile & Defense Systems, Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Program is seeking Mid-Level Engineers to join their team in Huntsville, AL. Boeing Huntsville has a multi-year contract to manufacture and test the seeker for the PAC-3 program as well as a factory expansion program to increase capacity.

The successful candidate will support the PAC-3 production program and develop advanced diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting seeker hardware. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development and verification of test methods in support of seeker production.
  • Develops detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan.
  • Develops solutions to calibration systems problems of limited scope and impact.
  • Designs test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements.
  • Analyzes, processes, and formats data to customer requirements.
  • Reviews test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer.
  • Prepares and publishes test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements.
  • Presents test results internally. Archives data and reports.
  • Trains others.
  • Works under general direction.
  • Work with management, Engineering, equipment manufacturers, vendors, and other organizations to analyze and make recommendations on automated test equipment design requirements, capability and improvements.
  • Aids with troubleshooting and repair of RF Seekers and subsystems.

Successful candidate will be a highly-motivated, self starter and technical leader with high technical competencies in RF automated test equipment systems (up to 40 Ghz).

Rotating Schedule: Must be have flexibility to work days or evening shift, weekend work is occasional depending upon program demands.

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

 

Typical Education & Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Experience writing, debugging and maintaining test software in C++, LabView or Visual Basic.
  • More than 3 years of cumulative experience in test software design such as National Instruments LabView.
  • Experience with test equipment including RF (radio frequency) sources, power meters, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience in RF (radio frequency) Testing (Power, Pulsed Power and Harmonics).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • MS Access experience using (VBA) Visual Basic for applications programming.
  • Experience designing high dynamic range, broadband RF (radio frequency) tuners and exciters for use in Software Defined Radios
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting of radio frequency (RF) technology.
