Job Description

The Boeing Test & Evaluation organization is seeking an entry-level, highly-motivated Test & Evaluation Lab Technician to join the Metrology Lab located in Huntsville, AL.


The successful candidate will:

  • Plan, check, set up, and calibrate measurement equipment in a laboratory environment calibrating laboratory standards and basic Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) and / or process equipment.
  • Use calibration standards to calibrate, adjust, certify, maintain, and repair M&TE / process equipment using approved calibration procedures, process specifications, equipment drawings, and M&TE / process equipment manufacturer's performance specifications.
  • Conduct routine tests, analyze data and document results.
  • Troubleshoot and recommend resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems.

Additional Associated Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Route M&TE / process equipment between receiving area, customer, and calibration lab.
  • Update equipment status using established systems and complete associated paperwork.
  • Ensure equipment is ready for calibration per metrology processes.
  • Prioritize and perform work according to automated daily report list, hot list, or as assigned by higher grade technician.
  • Perform visual check of M&TE / process equipment for discrepancies and wear.
  • Identify, document, and route non-conforming items in accordance with metrology lab processes.
  • Provide information and clarification to customers on metrology processes.
  • Work with higher graded employees engaged in the calibration and certification of M&TE, and assist in the development of new calibration processes and procedures.
  • Perform computations necessary to analyze measurement test results.
  • Required to work any shift assigned including overtime and weekends.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • More than 5 year experience in Metrology.
  • More than 5 year of experience in calibrating measurement and test equipment.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • More than 3 year of experience in the Aerospace industry.
  • Experience in a PMEL backshop for the USAF or RSAF or experience in a calibration lab.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Resumes must clearly contain security clearance level along with date and type of your last clearance investigation.

This position requires the ability to obtain a clearance for access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

 

Typical Education/Experience:

AA degree in related discipline and typically 3 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
