The Boeing Company is Seeking a QF-16 Lead Engineer 5

 

The Autonomous Systems QF-16 team is seeking a self-motivated Lead Engineer in support of the modification line at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, FL. This position will be the on site technical authority for the QF16 program reporting to the Autonomous Aviation Chief Engineer, and will be the primary program interface with the USAF Lead Engineer counterpart. The position will have delegation of authority from the Chief Engineer for change board decisions to baselines in support of the modification line. The ideal candidate will apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to troubleshooting equipment issues installed on the aircraft during the modification process, and making technical decisions to drive increased efficiency in the modification effort.
This position will be responsible for all Drone Peculiar Equipment (DPE) and will coordinate closely with Liaison, Manufacturing, Quality and Design Engineering, and Mechanics on the shop floor. Duties will include: daily troubleshooting, legacy jet issues (as needed), liaison to St. Louis Systems Engineering IPT for engineering change incorporation, supporting affordability initiatives, and support of fleet issues as they arise. Opportunities to support the Systems Engineering IPT on Engineering Change Proposals will be a secondary responsibility. Experience with F-16, QF-16 or other military fighter jet programs and researching Technical Publications on military aircraft is desired. A 3 month DTA to St. Louis for familiarization training with the Systems Engineering IPT is a possiblity if needed.

Qualifications

Typical Education / Experience

 

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Strong Avionics background required. Broad experience on multiple products and working with multiple engineering disciplines also required.

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)

 

This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship

Position is located in Jacksonville FL. Relocation assistance is provided.
