Job Description

The Boeing Company is seeking a Junior Test & Evaluation Lab Technician to join the team at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Designs systems, materials, components, software and methodologies to meet customer requirements
  • Participates in test design and performs routine procurement, fabrication and assembly of components, test fixtures and test systems
  • Supports the coordination of test requirements and assists in reviewing test methods and capabilities
  • Facilitates systems integration, fabrication and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post test tear-down
  • Conducts routine tests, analyzes data and documents results
  • Troubleshoots and recommends resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems
  • Works under general supervision
  • Participates in integration and test of laser, optical, electrical, and mechanical subsystems in support of experiments and engineering efforts
  • Performs routine maintenance of components and systems under supervision of senior technician
  • Participates as part of experimental crew conducting routine and non-standard experiments, supports data collection and analysis and documents results
  • Uses established physical, mechanical or scientific principles to troubleshoot basic laboratory and test-related problems

**Requires occasional work on platforms/scaffolding up to 50 feet above ground**

 

**Required to support non-standard work shifts that can change on a weekly basis. Must be able to support 100% 2nd or 3rd shift as required.**

Qualifications

This position requires an active Current Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working with hand tools, optical components, and electronics components, basics of electricity or fiber optics is required
  • Experience in laser, optical, electronic, or mechanical technologies
  • Performs lab compliance tasks such as tool control, ESD, PMEL, stock maintenance, as assigned

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • AA degree in electronics preferred

Typical Education/Experience:
AA degree in related discipline and typically 1 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

This position is based in Albuquerque, NM and does not offer relocation assistance. Applicants must reside in area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
