Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Experienced Electrical Engineer (Level 3) in Layton, UT. As a Electrical Engineer, you will participate in the GMD Ground Systems (GS) engineering development process to address obsolescence in the legacy system, and to improve maintainability and testability of the ground electronics. Collaborate with the LSS engineering team to develop new design concepts, assemble and build prototypes, develop test approaches, test plans, test software and conduct testing on final design to verify system requirements are met. Participate in the testing of production hardware and deployment to the field. Provide technical expertise to maintain and sustain the deployed ground systems. Work within an IPT environment and within an engineering team dedicated to maintaining technical excellence.
Responsibilities may include:
Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
Oversees the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
Makes recommendations for technology investments.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required)
Basic Qualifications/Required Skills:
Bachelor’s and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+3 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
3+ years of experiences as an Electrical/Electronic Engineer
3+ years of experience and knowledge of system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
1+ years of experience leading a team of engineers.
Experience with Troubleshooting and Repair of Electronic equipment.
Experience with LabView software programming.
Experience with production and testing of electronic equipment.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
