The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Satellite Software Mission Product organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team located in Seal Beach additional locations Seal Beach, CA and Chantilly, VA.
Our team creates the software tools and services for the world’s highest performing satellite/ground systems for USG and Commercial customers. We work with space customers in the development of the next generation ground systems for all types of space systems. Our program is organized by Integrated product teams working together to launch a rapidly integrated satellite/ground system.
Develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
Develop and maintain code and integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
Develop software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, execute the test procedures and document test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
Serves as a subject matter expert for the spacecraft command and control software domain, related industry standards, system-specific issues, processes and regulations

This position is expected to be 100% on-site. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic (Required) Qualifications
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
5 or more years of experience working with Unix/Linux distributions using command line terminals and GUI based desktop environments.
5 or more years of software development experience in a collaborative team environment using agile principles and a structured development process including code reviews and/or automated DevOps processes/tools.
Experience with C, C++, Java, and Shell, Tcl/Tk, Perl, and/or Python.
Preferred (Desired) Qualifications
CompTIA Security+ certification
Experience using team collaboration tools including ClearQuest / ClearCase, Git, JIRA Agile, and Confluence
Experience using SonarQube and/or Coverity to instrument, trend and manage code quality
Familiarity with Spacecraft Command & Control, Flight Dynamics and/or Mission Operations software support tools
Experience with cloud computing and virtualization technologies (Splunk, Vmware)
Experience with Domain Controllers, DNS
Experience with VxWorks
Experience in rehosting, debugging and validating code
Familiarity with FPGA, signal processing, payload command and control, mission management, and mission processing
Familiarity with intrusion detection systems (CimTrak,TripWire, etc)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
