Job Description

Job Qualifications:

The Deputy Program Manager will support the Program Director/Program Manager (PD/PM) with the following:

  • Create and maintain project schedules (tasks and resources) using a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in Microsoft Project based on PD/PM, customer, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and sub-contractor inputs;
  • Define, monitor, and update program budgets and program plans;
  • Track progress against the program plan and milestones;
  • Establish, monitor, and communicate program and technical performance measurements and metrics;
  • Identify appropriate staffing levels and allocation of resources required to execute the program to achieve cost and schedule performance;
  • Communicate with the customer, external suppliers, internal departments and the program team;
  • Assist with the definition and communication of program requirements;
  • Assist with the preparation of briefings to internal and customer audiences;
  • Assist with program contract management activities including agreements, changes, modifications and new business proposals;
  • Assist with the creation, review and delivery of all contract data requirements lists (CDRLs) deliverables as defined by the contract;
  • Assist with supplier management activities related to technical data requirements and supplier deliverables


Additional Qualifications:

  • Must have experience in project and/or engineering management, team supervision, process mapping, and meeting facilitation;
  • Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude;
  • Must be prepared to interact with internal and external customers;
  • Must be able to take initiative and work independently;
  • Must have experience preparing and giving presentations;
  • Must able to grasp both the big picture as well as have a focused attention to detail;
  • Must have the ability to multitask and work effectively, both individually and as a member of a project team, while ensuring timely completion of assignments;
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) is desirable;
  • Experience in the design, development, and testing of unmanned or manned aviation platforms and systems


Minimum Requirements:


  • BS/BA in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
  • Five-plus (5+) years of relevant program management or project engineering experience for complex technical activities utilizing PM process tools for scheduling, budget control and cost reporting for contracted activities >$5.0M in scope
  • Experience working in the aerospace and defense industry with a focus on aircraft design, development, manufacturing, and test
  • Must be a U.S. person 
  • Active Security Clearance (DoD) is desirable (but not a requirement)
