Job Description

Position Overview
Prepares, paints, and finishes coating to aircraft, parts, and assemblies. Lay out paint schemes and designs. Performs specialized paint assignments. Identify nonconforming detail parts, assemblies and processes. Work with engineering to improve manufacturing processes.


This position requires the flexibility to work on 1st or 2nd shift.


Responsibilities

  • Work from detailed blueprints, fabrication, assembly outlines, sketches, patterns, and written or verbal instructions to plan material requirements, the sequence of operations and fabricate to pre-determined configurations. 
  • Set up and operate typical shop equipment such as paint mixers, HVLP paint guns, paint measuring equipment, stencil maker, ID printers, orbital sanders, dye grinders and other general shop equipment and tools to complete work assignments. 
  • Perform rework on parts as required. 
  • Assist other classification and disseminate pertinent information to other assigned employees. 
  • Applies primer and finish coats, sanding, prep for paint and other detail work. 
  • Touches up primer and finish coats, including color matching and blending. 
  • Lays out paint schemes and designs. 
  • Designs templates.
  • Performs work in both FOD critical and FOD sensitive environments, observes all related safety procedures; reports unsafe conditions to safety officials or manufacturing supervision.

Qualifications

Education and/or Training Requirements
This job requires a minimum of a high school education and 1 to 3 years of work related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Basic Qualifications

  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Two or more years painting experience.
  • Experience interpreting blueprints, sketches and written and verbal instructions.
  • Experience using computer systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience calculating paint mix ratios.
  • Experience applying shop math.
  • Respirator certification.
  • Capability to work the 1st or 2nd shift.
  • Listening and interpersonal participation, and able to work with others as part of a team which includes giving and receiving feedback, and assisting others in completion of tasks.

  • Able to complete and maintain all required training and certifications needed to do your job efficiently.
  • Able to climb, stand, bend, kneel, reach, crawl, and walk on or around aircraft or work stands and in confined spaces.
