The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Associate Global Security Watch Officer to join the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) team in Mesa, AZ

As a Global Security Watch Officer, you will work both independently and as a key member of the wider GSOC team, providing critical information to our security partners around the clock and across the globe. While this is a security position, we will consider candidates from other disciplines who demonstrate a geopolitical understanding, as well as strong writing and social media analysis skills. The selected candidate will be required to work various rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operations center environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Monitor worldwide events

  • Identify events with the potential to impact Boeing's personnel, assets, and operations (example of relevant event categories include, but are not limited to: natural disasters, political instability, terrorism, crime, etc.)

  • Draft and review concise notifications for distribution to Boeing’s decision-makers and leaders

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of other global security professionals in support of the GSOC’s 24/7/365 operations

  • Facilitate Boeing’s crisis management response

  • Assist with event escalation and emergency communications to site, regional, and enterprise-level Security & Fire Protection leadership

  • Conduct detailed verbal situation briefings to Vice President level executives

  • Implement and support GSOC operating procedures and best practices to drive business goals and objectives

  • Participate in training and exercises to ensure GSOC team proficiency and compliance with standard operating procedures

  • Identify gaps and conduct critical assessments of best practices in dynamic environments in accordance with Boeing policies and procedures in different formats and venues including, but not limited to, after action reviews

  • Manage individual and group projects in support of strategic initiatives

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience, education or equivalent combination do you have covering one or more of the following types of issues: geopolitical instability, political violence, terrorism, travel safety and security, issue-based activism, man-made/natural disaster response and recovery, insider threat/workplace violence, counterintelligence, or physical security

  • 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Lync

  • Willing to work variable shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience

  • 3+ years of experience communicating, writing and briefing to all levels of staff

  • Experience and training in FEMA’s National Incident Management System (NIMS), including the Incident Command System (ICS)

  • Experience analyzing open-source intelligence such as social media, traditional media, and/or government websites

  • Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Emergency Management, International Affairs, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Fire Science, Public Administration, Security Studies, Strategic Intelligence, or International Business

  • Experience working in a collaborative environment such as corporate global security operations center, emergency operations center, or a major urban area fusion center

  • Experience in multi-tasking and rapid decision making in a dynamic environment

  • Experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) such as Google Maps, Bing Maps, ArcGIS, or Google Earth

  • Experience working with global risk intelligence and incident response applications such as Dataminr, Everbridge Suite, Factal, OnSolve, or WebEOC

Typical Education & Experience:

Typically, 3 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $64,600 – $87,400
