Job Description

Boeing Health Services is looking for an occupational medicine / aerospace physician to join our Global Occupational Health team to serve as an enterprise Occupational and Aerospace Medicine Physician Subject Matter Expert.

This position directly supports the global Boeing enterprise on Occupational and Aerospace Medicine issues. Principle responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Provides aerospace medical consultation and support to Boeing business units related to medical issues, infectious disease and health concerns related to the design and/or use of Boeing’s products and services. May design, conduct, and analyze medical research studies in support of this requirement and participate in technical aerospace conferences and associations.

 

• Develops and/or serves as the subject matter expert on policies and procedures related to occupational health surveillance programs, hearing conservation, and other OSHA regulatory programs in conjunction with team of occupational medicine specialists.

 

• Leads and/or supports global infection disease response including the global pandemic plan; provide consultation on site infectious disease response.

 

• Supports the Health Services on-site clinic teams and enterprise stakeholders including EHS on technical issues and incidents related to occupational, aerospace, preventive, environmental and global infectious disease response.

 

• Provides support for communicable disease outbreaks and public health issues including pandemic planning, and workplace environmental concerns and hazard assessment and mitigation. Works closely with Environment, Health and Safety including Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology on complex workplace exposure and environmental health risk concerns and communication.

 

• Provides medical support and consultation for global international health services and other company occupational health professionals as required.

Qualifications

Typical Education/Experience:


MD degree or equivalent and 10 or more years of Occupational Health experience.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):


• This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.


• Must have a current US physician license and ability to obtain Arizona physician license

• Current board certification in Occupational, Preventive or Aerospace Medicine

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Occupational Health

• Skilled in use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

 
• Must be available to be on-call / available by phone after work hours


 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)


• Aerospace medical experience preferred

 

• Critical thinking and ability to conduct research involving aerospace or environmental medicine or physiology

 

• Research experience

 

• Strong written and oral communication; proficient in presenting information to diverse audiences

 

• Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders
