The Apache Operations Technical Support Assistant/General Hand role is required to provide unsupervised labour support services to hangar staff during aircraft maintenance activities and to assist with maintenance and management of Ground Support Equipment. Ideally the candidate should have a technical background or will have undergone some technical training in a previous role and should also have some knowledge of Military systems.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Apache Off-Aircraft Support Operations Manager and will be a member of the Support Operations team.
The competencies of an Operations Technical Support Assistant/General Hand
will include but not be limited to, hangar support to Operations personnel for:
Duties include:
- Ground Support Equipment maintenance assistance including use of the JAMES system.
- Forklifting duties, for which training will be given.
- Waste management across the hangar and support bays:
- Support to hangar and aircraft bay tidiness and FOD prevention:
- Support to Operations Management, Team Leads and Office Administrator.
- Should be a good communicator, with a demonstrable ability to receive and communicate technical work requirements to others.
- Assistance to the tool-store team lead to include deputising as an occasional tool-store operative.
- Demonstrate the Boeing Seek, Speak and Listen Behaviours.
- Maintaining a positive open work culture
- Waste management in support of the maintenance and support function areas. Waste management to include, daily removal of waste from the working areas, maintaining a clean working area in the Aircraft bays. Waste management to be in accordance with the site policy,
- Maintain communications and relationships within the team
- Support to the Technical Support Co-coordinators as directed by the Operations Management
- Forklifting duties as directed by Operations management
- Support to Office Administrator with lifting and moving of equipment in support of their daily tasks
- Escalate risk, issues and opportunities to Operations Management
- Support CI within the hangar environment
- Escalate risk and issues
- The Operations Technical Support Assistant/General Hand is responsible for maintaining compliant and clean hangar.
- Ensure the reporting of events/occurrences/near misses, in line with BDUK QA, SMS and EH&S reporting requirements, through an open and just culture
- Ensure safety compliance of GSE alongside the EH&S rep
Preferred qualifications:
- Trained on Authority Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solutions (JAMES).
- Ideally technically trained to NVQ Level 2 or above.
- Be familiar with Military processes and systems of work.
Work Authorization:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labor sponsorship for any applicants.
Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance (SC) for which UK residency is required. All information will be checked and verified.
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
