Job Description
We are looking for a motivated individual with very strong technical capabilities combined with the ability and desire to learn and work with complex software installations.
This is an opportunity for you to work in an international environment with a team of like-minded system experts working in software applications tailored for the aviation industry. The Versatile Technologist team operates from three different locations; Gothenburg, Montreal and Singapore.
Essential duties:
As a Versatile Technologist you will:
  • Provide application and advanced technical support for critical software systems used by the airline industry, in particular the Jeppesen Crew Tracking and Ops Control products.
  • Actively monitor the performance of the Jeppesen Crew Operational Products.
  • Use virtual machines to troubleshoot various software used by our clients.
  • Assist the client with knowledge injections, proactive problem solving and daily management of their production system.
  • Maintain production systems under Linux platform and make recommendations to clients on patches/upgrades.
  • Guide our clients through the resolution of their issues and the configuration of the Jeppesen Crew Operational products.
  • Provide system requirements to the Technical Development team
  • Participate in a 24x7 standby roster – currently 1 week every 5 weeks.
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications and Skills:

This role requires an individual who is experienced and interested in an array of IT related technical areas.
  • Expert knowledge of Unix and/or Linu
  • Expert knowledge with shell scripting
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • You like to analyze and solve problems
  • Quick learner and with a strong desire for professional development.
  • Highly responsible, able to take ownership of issues





  • Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar
  • 3+ years experience in a similar role (including software development).
  • Particular interest in technical problem solving.
  • Good programming skills in a range of languages (Python and Java preferred)
  • Distributed version control systems such as mercurial, git
  • Messaging systems such as MQ, ActiveMQ, Qpid
  • Databases (Oracle preferred)
  • Customer relationship experience is advantageous but secondary to technical aptitude
The team works closely with other local and global teams within Jeppesen.
