Job Description

Boeing and NASA are building the world’s largest rocket for human exploration of deep space. The Space Launch System (SLS) provides a critical heavy-lift capability, powering people and cargo beyond our moon and into deep space to enable diverse exploration, science and security missions.

Boeing is the prime contractor for the design, development, test and production of the massive core stage, and development of the avionics. This position is with the Boeing Exploration Launch Systems supporting production of the NASA SLS Core Stage and is based at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Boeing Company is seeking a Supply Chain Management Analyst to support the team in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Supply Chain Management Analyst:
Incorporates change and planning decisions to arrive at optimal solutions.
Applies Supply Chain Management (SCM) methodologies to ensure coordination in the global supply chain. Analyzes complex material requirements.
Integrates program, customer, product and in-service strategies into supply chain strategies.
Conducts risk, issues and opportunities management. Manages supply and demand, schedules, supplier quality and delivery performance.
Initiates and executes supplier improvement activities and integrates results into contracting strategies.
Verifies and incorporates Bills of Material/schedules into a production plan. Determines part number attributes.
Initiates, coordinates and authorizes release of orders by evaluating system requirements and resource availability.
Ensures on-time delivery.
Documents and resolves order delinquencies.
Reports schedule adherence issues.
Develops and controls inventory plans.
Optimizes inventory levels.
Analyzes and dispositions excess inventories.
Initiates audits.
Develops and creates schedules for products and services.
Assists in developing estimates and schedules for new business proposals.
Implements and maintains process improvements by analyzing and establishing best practices for materials management to improve SCM performance.
Works under general direction.

Required Skills:
This position requires the ability to obtain badging for NASA facility access.
This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to NASA (DOT) random drug and alcohol testing.
Willing to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.
Supply chain experience.
Experience working in a customer service environment.
Work experience using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Experience working with Non Flyaway Materials (i.e. Tools, Hazmat, Consumables).

Experience working on NASA programs.

Work Authorization:
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Typical Education/Experience:
Bachelor's and typically 6 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
