Job Description

The Boeing Test & Evaluation Metrology and Test Equipment Services (MATES) Organization has an opening for an Mid Level Test and Evaluation Technical Services Specialist in New Orleans, Louisiana (MAF / Michoud Air Force Base). 
 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Independently ensures that test equipment is available to perform tests (e.g., coordinates availability with metrology, shop, equipment management) to ascertain calibration, procurement, and scheduling status.
  • Provides assistance to plan product testing, test support requirements and acquire equipment and test assets.
  • Maintains test documentation that supports regulatory requirements. 
  • Develops solutions to calibration systems problems of limited scope and impact.
  • Uses analytical tools.
  • Analyzes, processes, and formats data to customer requirements.
  • Reviews test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer.
  • Prepares and publishes test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements.
  • Presents test results internally.
  • Archives data and reports.
  • Trains others. Works under general direction.

Qualifications

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

 

This position requires the ability to obtain a clearance for access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility. 
 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience managing test assets and/or calibrated equipment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in test asset or metrology.
  • Experience with Common Metrology Information System (CMIS).

 

Typical Education/Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
