Job Description

The IT Operations organization is looking for an individual who wants to work as part of a global team in a dynamic environment supporting Boeing product life-cycle systems, has strong technical aptitude, and has an ability to investigate and solve challenging problems. The position will be part of a team supporting a portfolio of CAD Design applications, for both current and future production systems.


The chosen candidate will play a key role in enabling the business by maximizing system availability, increasing business productivity, and improving user experience so that Boeing Programs can deliver on business objectives and commitments. The job entails applying technical skills and knowledge of specific information technologies in support of daily operations, system improvements, and end user technical (Tier 3) support.  This includes investigation, resolution, and proactive prevention of system and data problems. This work involves collaborating with other IT functions and business stakeholders to respond to service tickets, address system performance issues and trends, and tackle new requirements and opportunities related to improving systems and operations excellence. The role will also help us pursue learning and growing skills/knowledge capability within and across business and technology domains as we continue to develop and expand a world class support team.


Job Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve reported issues and system-generated alerts/alarms, working in coordination with users, business SMEs, and other IT personnel
  • Engage other IT services as required to support users and solve problems
  • Participate in planning and execution of system updates
  • Perform system health checkout after planned or unplanned outages
  • Develop knowledge articles and support documentation
  • Fulfill user/business-generated service requests
  • Automate support tasks where possible
  • Initiate Change Requests
  • Participate in Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations
  • Provide off hours on-call support on a rotational basis to resolve escalated issues

Candidate must be an independent self-starter, be able to work with people across various locations and have the ability to concurrently manage a variety of different tasks. The candidate for this position must be willing and able to work both strategically and at a tactical level to accomplish the elements of the assignment.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
  • Technical Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Experience with CATIA V5
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in production operations or end user/customer support for IT Systems
  • Experience with Window and Unix operating systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • 1+ years of experience using CATIA V5 and ENOVIA
  • 1+ years of experience using the ENOVIA design tool
  • Experience with analytics and/or project management processes
Typical Education / Experience:

Technical bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
