Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking experienced software engineers (Level 2) to implement state of the art sensing, communication, navigation and mission processing capabilities into fighters and bombers at both the St. Louis, MO and Oklahoma City, OK sites.
 
As a Software Engineer on our team, you will work through the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to include; requirements development, interface definition, design, coding, unit testing, and integration of operational software.
 
Software application domains include displays, communication and data links, sensor control and fusion, mission management, weapon control, and embedded training.

Software is implemented in a number of programming languages based on the target hardware and customer requirements.  Opportunities exist to develop software ranging from low-level embedded code to C++ executing on networked Linux systems in flight simulators using 3D graphics.  Boeing is investing in a new Software Development Environment (SDE) to take advantage of the latest industry tool sets in order to maximize developer productivity.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required):
  • The ability to obtain a U.S  Secret Security Clearance. (Pre-hire)
  • 2+ years of experience in Software Development for embedded real-time systems.
  • Experience with the Software development lifecycle (including requirements analysis, design, code, integration, and test)
  • History of real-time avionics, simulation, modeling, or test equipment software development
  • Ability to travel up to 5 days a month.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
  • Knowledge of or experience with Agile software development concepts
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teammates and leads.

Typical Education/Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
