Job Description

Boeing Defense, Space & Security is seeking an experienced (Level 3) Systems Engineer to execute System Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) projects for the B-1 Bomber program, directly contributing to our nation’s defense. This position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Emphasis will be on airborne data link (e.g., Link 16) communications, with related real-time avionics flight software systems requirements development, lab and flight test performance analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all related system and subsystem program data link centric interfaces.
  • Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Develops solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
  • Interacts frequently with inter-organizational personnel and external customers. Represents the organization by providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
  • Develops and documents architecture views for communications and network subsystems to satisfy performance requirements.
  • Identifies data for use in modeling, simulation and analysis tools. Inputs relevant parameters and generates simulation results using communications and networks analysis tools.
  • Works with customers to generate validated sub system level requirements baseline for communications and network systems. Performs functional decomposition of customer needs to develop lower level functions and requirements. Creates and maintains requirements documentation and traceability.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
  • Minimum three years experience in the development of requirements and requirement verification for real time software systems and subsystems.

 

 

Preferred Skills (Assets):

  • Knowledge and understanding of one or more of the following:
    Network protocols (e.g. Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC429, RS-422 etc.)
  • Offensive, Defensive systems; Sensors, navigation and communications, network centric related avionics software systems and displays subsystems general knowledge
  • Commercial and or military Communication subsystem(s) and associated capability to include but not limited to Airborne Data links (e.g. Link-16) and communication systems (e.g., MIDS LTV, ARC 210, etc.)

Typical Education / Experience:

Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
