The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Lead Structural Design Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Airborne Surveillance Command and Control (ASC2), Bombers, or the Executive Transport Services & Systems (ETS&S) programs.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develops, integrates and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design

• Develops, maintains and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle

• Leads performance, integration and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

• Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals

• Assists with investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements

• Works under minimal direction

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

• 8+ years of experience in mechanical and /or structural design

• 8+ years of experience creating, executing, reviewing, and managing structural design models

• 8+ years of experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables

• 8+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

• 8+ years of experience in CAD/CAM software (CATIA V5, SolidWorks, Siemens NX)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Active U.S. Secret Clearance

• Experience validating or verifying structural models

• Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills

• Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures, secondary structures, interior payloads

• Experience with analytical, communication and problem-solving skills

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: 100,000 –150,000.00
