Job Description

The Boeing Company is recruiting for a Radar - IFF Engineer level 3. This is a mid-level engineering opportunity supporting the Radar and IFF (Identification, Friend or Foe) Avionics Solutions team.

The successful candidate will be a team member of a dedicated, lean, and highly capable Radar & IFF H/W group responsible for the design, development, technical subcontract management, integration, test, airworthiness and documentation of Radar and IFF (Identification, Friend or Foe) avionics solutions for the AWS Advanced Warning and Control Systems (AWACS) or Advanced Early Warning Command and Control (AEWC) aircraft.

The Radar - IFF Engineer works with customers and suppliers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements. Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware / software designs and interface specifications. Manages testing which verifies system designs meet operational and functional requirements. Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements. Oversees subcontractor design, development, integration, testing and delivery of hardware, software and systems. Fields and responds to customer hardware and software problems.

Basic/Required Qualifications:

• This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
• Experience in Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, and/or Mechanical Engineering.

• Experience with Radar and/or IFF testing, hardware or software.

• Experience in the defense or aerospace industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Candidates must possess good leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.
• Must have a strong, demonstrated work ethic and sense of urgency for completing assigned work with a history of meeting commitments.
• Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events is important.
• Possibility exists, depending on experience, for this individual to work across both Radar and IFF.
• Ensuring Technical Excellence of all IFF related products and presentations.

Typical Education/Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
