Job Description

Boeing Defense, Space, & Security (BDS) Mission Systems is seeking a highly qualified engineer to lead requirement definitions, architectural and design approaches, and implementation efforts for common data link software across multiple airborne surveillance platforms and in a product line environment for Strike, Surveillance and Mobility (SSM). This position is based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

 

The selected candidate will:

  • Serve as Project Lead for new contracts, including the development of Tier Vs and managing of status reporting.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues that hinder development of a single common code base for use across multiple programs.
  • Interface directly with Mission Computing peers on multiple programs to ensure the correct definition of interface and associated protocol, as well as to ensure the correct allocation of requirements to the data link and mission computing software components.
  • Develop solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation.
  • Use knowledge of complex mission computing architecture to create, document, and present design alternatives, including between Integrated Product Teams other than his own.
  • Resolve programmatic and technical problems that would affect cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Implement approved designs to meet contractual functional requirements.
  • Contribute to the success of the group by designing within the team design framework.
  • Perform unit and data link integration level testing to ensure the end product is stable, meets the functional requirements, and is ready for integration into the data link system software.
  • Perform Data Link Infrastucture team builds for all ASC2 programs, and participate in the development of detailed procedures as builds evolve and as build requirements change.
  • Train and mentor team members in performance of their assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance with special access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience designing Link-16 and Link-11 software.
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-6016 and MIL-STD-6011.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the Datalink Infrastructure (DLI) design framework.
  • Experience leading a team in a Project Lead role.
  • Background in the development and managing of Tier Vs.
  • Experience performing builds and running the smoke test.
