Job Description

Are you interested in a rewarding engineering support career at a company that supports our nation’s warfighters? The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking Systems Engineering Technician (Level 5) to join our growing Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

 

As a member of this team, you’ll be involved in developing and supporting modifications and upgrades for one of the following three programs: Bombers, Executive Transport Services & Support (ETS&S) fleet, and Airborne Surveillance Command and Control (ASC2). The Boeing Company has seen significant growth in Oklahoma in recent years and we’re looking for qualified engineers to be part of our team. 

 
Your duties as the technical support will include (but are not limited to): 
  • Supports systems/specialty engineers in defining requirements, developing trade studies, performing analyses, and controlling associated data and information.
  • Plans and leads reliability and maintainability analysis, cost analysis, system architecture studies, risk assessment and baseline comparative analysis to assess system design characteristics.
  • Supports strategic activities related to reliability, maintainability and health monitoring data acquisition and monitoring.
  • Leads failure analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Applies advanced job principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Guides the development of methods, processes, procedures and tools for assessing maintainability characteristics of design.
  • Coordinates the development of certification and aviation regulatory proposals and plans and verifies compliance to requirements.
  • Develops and implements certification processes, tools and procedures.
  • Provides technical support to all system engineering activities.
  • Coaches and mentors others.
  • Works under consultative direction.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts as well as advanced job practices, techniques, and standards. (Recognized as a subject matter expert within the company.)
  • Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
  • Initiates assignments, and determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. (Work is checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than formal review by a superior.)
  • Serves as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and programs.
  • Acts as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies. 

 

Preferred Qualifications (Assets):

  • Experience with DOORS is a plus.
  • Experience with SysML, OML, or Rational Rhapsody is a plus.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering, Program Management.

 

Typical Education/Experience:
AA degree in related discipline and typically 9 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

 

Relocation: This position is located in the Oklahoma City, OK area and does not offer relocation assistance. Applicants must reside in area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
