Job Description

This position is located in Oklahoma City, OK and may offer relocation assistance.

 

Boeing Defense, Space & Security in Oklahoma City, OK is seeking experienced engineers for the Embedded Cybersecurity Engineering Capability Center (ECC) with a background in Mission Systems/Avionics and Systems Engineering to provide hands-on support to our programs.  This position is a member of a team supporting a broad spectrum of programs, ranging from Airborne Surveillance, Executive Transport, Bombers to new pursuits in advanced technology, to provide the cybersecurity solutions needed to protect the customer information/data, the platform, and to enable mission effectiveness.  Please note that having some background in cybersecurity is a plus, but it’s not required.

The team engages from early concept and system architecture development through requirements, implementation, test, and deployment.  This requires an engineer to have a system-level mindset and understanding of how a product works, is used and maintained, as well as the impacts from the supply chain and software development.  In the increasingly global business environment, identifying and managing the supply chain risks to our DoD customers while enabling the affordability has become even more important.

Job Responsibilities:
• Work closely with a variety of engineering and non-engineering disciplines, especially Mission Systems Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Security, Government and Computing Security, and Supplier Management in addition to Program Office technical/management staff to ensure the relevance of architecture and system designs in implementing program cybersecurity requirements.
• Knowledge of the DoD policies and requirements related to cybersecurity are a plus, though not required. As the level of responsibility increases, familiarity with these policies is needed and the role on the team may require obtaining certifications such as Security+ or CISSP to comply with contract requirements.
• Working with suppliers
• Developing statement-of-work and technical performance specifications
• Understanding applicable contract requirements; managing requirements
• Working knowledge of software architecture and software development processes.
• Working under general supervision

Qualifications
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Develops and documents moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
• Designs hardware, software and interface specifications.
• Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
• Assists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
• Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
• Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• Experience in analysis of requirements and avionics systems.
• Experience with military aircraft systems.
• Experience collaborating in a team environment.
• Experience in risk management.
• Experience with Systems Security and knowledge of DoD policies and requirements related to cybersecurity are a plus, though not required.
• Experience with software architecture and software development processes.
• Current IT Security Certifications such as Security+ or CCNA Security.
• DOD Experience as a Civilian, Military or Contractor.
• Current Security Clearance

Typical Education/Experience:
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience.  Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.  ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
