Maintains a complete understanding of the Total Airspace and Airport Modeler (TAAM), its operating environments and ensures pre-and post processing capabilities and understood and utilized.  Maintains expert knowledge of Air traffic Management and Airline Operations domain concepts, operations, procedures, and anticipated changes and developments.  Provides technical direction, training and guidance to co-workers and others as directed



Essential Duties:

  • Conducts studies of aeronautical operations, evaluates movement in the airspace and airport environment and provides detailed reports.
  • Advises customers of simulation results through technical reports and client presentations.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on airspace compatibility, airspace design and evaluation, and makes recommendations based on thorough analysis of simulation output.
  • Trains new and existing end-users in the use of TAAM in a formal classroom setting. Assists in the production and maintenance of training materials.
  • Collects required data for simulation scenarios. Conducts stakeholder meetings to solicit input for simulation modeling.
  • Supports Business Development staff and the Consulting Services Manager in the development of new consulting services business.
  • Conducts validation testing to ensure the reliability of new releases.




Technical degree in a related field of study and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.



Knowledge and Skills:

  • Applies extensive job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts. Has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Recognized as a job expert within the department/organization.
  • Provides technical solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and creativity.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long-term perspective.
  • Guides the successful completion of aspects of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Erroneous decisions or recommendations may result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.
  • Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
