Job Description

Boeing AvionX is seeking engineers to staff emerging programs in the areas of Avionics Software and Systems Engineering.  This team will be responsible to develop avionics software from customer requirements through the delivery to the internal customer. Position includes flight software and some ground software. All phases of the development program. Primary focus is on systems engineering. An understanding of avionics hardware development is a plus.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Participates in trade studies and proposal teams to identify and scope technical and cost baselines for software development programs.
  • Develops technical approaches and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners.
  • Develops and executes integrated project plans, procedures and provides technical guidance to software development programs.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Bachelors or higher in engineering, science or math
  • Experience in the full life-cycle of software development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Experience using SysML tools
  • Possess software qualification / certification in DO178C and/or DO33

Typical Education / Experience:
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
