Boeing Global Services (BGS) in Renton, WA is seeking an experienced Publications Writer Editor (Level 3) to join the BGS Engineering team on 1st shift. In this role, the focus will be on the development of commercial flight training, publications and products to support our global flight training network and airline customers.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Reviews work in progress, disputes and discrepancies
Gathers input and reconciles conflicting comments
Writes, edits and proofreads technical, proposal and promotional text and artwork
Verifies consistency and clarity of communication
Defines scope of project, negotiates agreement and monitors status
Develops concepts and proposals for new content management
Negotiates approaches to content structure and design
Determines content requirement for regulatory treatment, coordination or approval
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
Technical writing and editing experience
Experience reading and interpreting technical publications and/or maintenance manuals
Experience with engineering updates and changes to develop new or revised technical publications and/or manuals
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):
Experience with XML
Experience writing military and/or commercial flight technical manuals is a PLUS
Experience with PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Typical Education / Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
