Boeing Vancouver is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. The position will be based from our Richmond, British Columbia office; however, a hybrid work style is offered, allowing the candidate to work both virtually and in the office.
The DevOps Engineer will work closely with a team of developers, testers, BA’s, project and product managers to ensure high availability and redundancy of all systems. The position will involve improving the build pipeline process and ensure successful delivery of new releases, developing infrastructure code, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) related tasks, and ultimately increasing value to the customer.
Position Responsibilities:
Analyzes computing requirements.
Leads a multidiscipline range of technical systems and application activities.
Leads activities to install, configure and maintain multiplatform systems hardware, software and components.
Leads activities to plan, develop, design, integrate and maintain all computer applications.
Plans and coordinates highly complex software and hardware for enterprise release.
Ensures systems conforms with architectural objectives.
Evaluates complex system's production readiness and supportability.
Performs the restoration of complex computing service operations.
Performs complex system problem identification and resolution.
Leads activities to integrate security solutions into information systems.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite in Richmond, BC.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Must legally able to work in Canada
3+ years’ experience in Software Development
3+ years’ experience with developing and supporting applications in docker
3+ years’ experience with Cloud platforms (such as Azure, Google or AWS)
3+ years’ experience as a database administrator
3+ years’ experience with Linux, Network Administration
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field is considered an asset
Experience with maintaining database schemas and Apache Solr is an asset
Experience with Docker containerization and clustering (e.g. Kubernetes/GKE/Helm/NGINX) is considered an asset
Knowledge of monitoring and code scanning tools (e.g. Grafana/Prometheus/Coverity) is considered an asset
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOPS, Artifactory, GitLab, Maven, Jenkins is considered an asset
Experience with Clustering, Network Load Balancing, Geographic redundancy, Fail Over Solutions, Data Backups, Recovery and Replication would be considered an asset
Education/Experience:
Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 7 or more years’ or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
