Software Engineer

The Boeing company is seeking a entry level Software Engineer for the St. Louis, Missouri location. These opportunities include: Avionics systems for manned or unmanned air-vehicles and weapons; Pilot-in-the-loop flight simulation and Training devices, and Virtual warfare simulation software.At Boeing, our software engineers use their expertise to dream up next-generation software capabilities for some amazing aerospace platforms. They develop cutting edge sensors and mission systems, high bandwidth communication systems, large-scale simulation systems, airplane and weapons flight controls, cybersecurity solutions and much more. Software is an integral part of each of these products and these products are integral parts of the defense of multiple nations. In your role, you will be part of a multi-disciplined team of engineers that take pride in developing, integrating, testing and delivering innovative solutions to a variety of challenging customer needs. Position Responsibilities:
  • Working with customers and other engineers to define requirements, such as understanding and agreeing upon the function of software syste
  • Architect and designing software to meet current and future requirements
  • Implement software using a variety of technologies and implementation software languages
  • Testing implementation at a low-level, than with the software in the rest of the system, and finally as a system on the real hardware used by the customer.
  • As a Software Engineer you will work with a team in a casual but professional environment where there is long-term potential for career growth into technical leadership or management positions.

Qualifications
This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Academic or professional software development experience. Please list cumulative grade point average (GPA) clearly on resume.


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Preferred degrees are Computer Science, Computer Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering with strong software skills. 
  • Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. 
  • Education or experience in Calculus and Physics
  • Experience programming in C, C++, C# or Java
  • Exposure to Software Development methodologies
  • Experience developing embedded real-time software
  • Experience with Agile software development
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with stakeholders of different backgrounds and skill levels 
  • Academic or professional experience such as an internship or prior work in software development 
Typical Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
