Job Description

Exciting, engaging position as an Industrial Engineer (IE). Boeing Global Services (BGS), in San Antonio, is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support maintenance, modification and upgrades of various programs (ex. Executive Fleet, C-17, F-15, F-18, and AWACS).

• Review the allocation of resources, analyzes productivity, and seeks out ways to maximize production while minimizing cost.
• Overseeing and assisting in the development of shop floor operating schedules, capacity planning, and developing spreadsheets to analyze data (e.g., statistics and operations research).
• Provide summary analysis and metrics for consultation to internal customers at various levels.
• Lead the research, design, development, improvement and implementation of processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts.
• Lead the use of engineering methods to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, and equipment) in the creation and validation of products.
• Manage, define, negotiate, and control the scope, cost, and timing of projects, and perform risk analysis using project management tools (e.g., work break-down structure, precedence network, and resource allocation).

Primary Responsibilities:
• Schedule work plans, data analysis (historical, trends and production impacts), staffing and process improvements.
• Utilize engineering methods to assist in developing optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, and equipment) in the creation and validation of products.
• Interact with employees to gather data for process improvements. This may include observing and documenting processes, and collecting data in manufacturing areas or on aircraft during various production phases.

This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.


This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship and no other citizenship.


This position will require the ability to obtain a security clearance with a favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or T5 Investigation and customer approval as a condition of employment.

• 7+ years’ experience with Aircraft modifications or aircraft production environments.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency with standard PC desktop applications are required. Advanced computer skills with proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint. 
• This requires the ability to walk, stand, and enter into aircraft via steps or ladders as needed. Also, candidate may be in proximity to chemicals when observing/gathering data in an area in the factory where chemicals are in use.

• Your superior analytical, critical thinking, continuous learning and strong interpersonal skills will ensure successful projects and team performance. 

• Experience with 3D Computer aided design tools preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience with wire bundle fabrication concepts, wire installation, electrical equipment installation, and installation of wiring provisions in a modification environment preferred.
• Industrial Engineering experience in a factory setting, familiarity with manufacturing operations, manufacturing planning, engineering drawings and specifications, lean concepts (certifications preferred).
• Experience working with data sets from a wide variety of sources such as SQL server or Oracle preferred.

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
