Job Description:

Develops and maintains engineering by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs and resolving design discrepancies to satisfy customer and production requirements. Coordinates engineering product definition with internal/external stakeholders. Investigates and coordinates with manufacturing/production personnel. Assists in developing statements of work as needed.


AA degree in related discipline and typically 2 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in an engineering environment.

Minimum 2 years in technical design with engineering design tools (CATIA, UG-NX, Creo, SolidWorks). Experience within Boeing Commercial or Defense Aircraft Group a plus.

General understanding and familiarization of engineering practices and related technical publications
Strong PC skills with high proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office products functionality
Proficiency in 3D modeling skills and using engineering design tools
Ability to learn new applications quickly.
Ability to prioritize for maximum productivity for multiple projects
Ability to define and document processes as required
Ability to identify potential issues, analyze and recommend improvements and alternate solutions.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Good organizational skills.
Proven reasoning, analytical abilities and mechanical aptitude.

Possess an understanding of engineering job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories and concepts.
Provide technical solutions for a wide range of tasks. Work independently to analyze, interpret, and translate source data into the product.
Develop solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives.
Locate source data from the applicable files and systems.
Develops and maintains engineering product definition.
Prepares design layouts and modifies existing designs.
Develops statements of work, including design requirements, cost and schedule estimates.
Coordinates and develops work transfer packages.
Contributes to the integration of product definition across internal and external business partners to provide a functional end-product.
Review incoming source data to identify the affect and impact on the product.
Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions and be technically responsible and accountable for assigned work.
Lead development, integration, and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design
Knowledge of aircraft structure, materials, strengths and properties, design criteria, loading conditions and processes (e.g. non-destructive testing, corrosion prevention, fatigue)
Perform detailed analysis and interpretation of source data and make corrections as appropriate.
Meet assigned schedules and deadlines.
Ability to travel for training or assignments as required.
