Job Description

The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a System Administrator (Level 2) for the GPS Satellite Operations team in support of the Integrated Mission Opersation Support Center (IMOSC) located on an Air Force installation – Schreiver Air Force Base, near Colorado Springs, CO.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

 

The System Administrator performs computing delivery system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture. In addition, this role:

  • Provides problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems.
  • Provides support for the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems.
  • Performs system monitoring and backup and restore procedures to ensure system and data availability.  
  • Administers users system access to meet security requirements and an internal configuration control board to review and approve system hardware and software changes and enhancements. 
  • Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning.
  • Performs system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture.
  • Installs, configures and maintains systems hardware, software and components.
  • Plans, develops, designs, integrates and maintains all computer applications, including specialized applications specific to the program’s objectives.
  • Ensures systems conform to architectural objectives.
  • Performs complex system problem identification and resolution.
  • Evaluates system performance and identify process/product improvements
  • Performs the restoration of complex computing service operations.
  • Integrates security solutions into information systems.
  • Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning

Qualifications

Typical Education/Experience:  Technical bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
  • Experience as a systems administrator. 
  • Experience in evaluating system performance and identifying process/product improvements
