Position Overview:
Boeing is looking to hire an Aerodynamics Engineer Level 3 for their Seal Beach, CA location.
Flight Operations Engineering provides essential certification, operational, & safety data, and support for all operators of Boeing airplanes to ensure their safe and efficient operation of aircraft.  Included in our portfolio of products and services are Airplane Flight Manuals, Performance Software and Data, Training, Dispatch Requirements, and Airline Support Engineering.  Our suite of operational performance software tools allows for flight planning and engineering studies through analysis of Takeoff & Landing, Climbout, and Enroute data.  Our Dispatch Requirements team ensures continued airworthiness and maximum airplane dispatch reliability to Boeing Operators.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Analyze engineering and supplier information to develop airplane dispatch, performance data, operational documents, and software.
  • Primarily assists with the development and maintenance of operational performance software applications and tools used by airline customers to plan and dispatch flights for all Boeing commercial models.
  • Assists airline customers by researching and preparing responses to airline technical support issues related to operational performance software applications.
  • Assists in training others/Trains and coaches others.
  • Works under general/minimal supervision.

Qualifications
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification:
Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Flight Operations experience.
  • Aircraft performance experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with JAVA SWT.
  • Experience with software engineering concepts.
  • Agile development methodology experience.
  • Aircraft performance data experience.
