Job Description
As a Networks Design and Analysis Engineer, you will be part of an awesome, collaborative team for Special Programs. As a highly productive, self-motivated member of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, you will work in collaboration with multiple technical and support groups, on both ongoing operational efforts and exciting future projects for a highly valued, dynamic program. This position is located in Seal Beach, CA.
  • Identifies, analyzes and documents requirements for both classified and unclassified network transport technologies and services (e.g. voice, video, data, wireless, cable, wire) based on customer objectives, cost and security constraints, to provide input into the design process
  • Creates and documents designs based on detailed analysis of customer requirements, and architectural and security guidelines (e.g. NIST 800, JSIG RMF, ICD 503, DISA STIGs)
  • Evaluates standard design template and develops appropriate design solutions
  • Deploys and implements packages based on installation standards guidelines. Tests and validates whether implemented solution works to design specification
  • Evaluates implemented solution and makes changes based on customer usability. Uses network analysis and monitoring tools to test, evaluate and perform high-level problem resolution to meet service restoration, network availability and reliability objectives
  • Must have experience with Cisco switching, routing and firewall hardware and common network concepts such as LAN/WAN, perimeter, IPSec, routing/switching, packet filtering, IDS/IPS, authentication, cabling, and troubleshooting

This position requires an active Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)/Special Program Access(SPA) U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Must have a final DoD Top Secret or other clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed or updated within the past five years
  • 5+ years' experience with Cisco switching, routing and firewall hardware and common network concepts such as LAN/WAN, perimeter, IPSec, routing/switching, packet filtering, IDS/IPS, authentication, cabling, and troubleshooting
  • 1+ years' experience working in proprietary areas
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and/or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Ability to work cross functionally and in collaboration with other teams
Typical Education and Experience:
Technical four-year or greater bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience, or a technical Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience, or a technical PhD degree with experience. A technical degree is defined as a degree granted from an accredited institution in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or information technology. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
