Senior Systems Engineer / Project Lead
Boeing Government Satellites' Experimental Systems Group (ESG) within our Space & launch division, has an opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer / Project Lead (Level 5) to support a proprietary program. Government Satellites, manages the company's major government satellite and ground programs for communications, national defense and other missions, and oversees the design, development, manufacture, integration and testing of space systems. This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. (Basic relocation is available for internal candidates, based on candidate eligibility.)
The successful candidate will have experience in project and technical management, managing a major subcontract, overseeing hardware/software development, and supporting the development of products from inception through delivery and operation. The position requires a wide range of technical and project management skills, and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders (customer, Boeing, supplier) to ensure the best value is delivered.
- Technical management of major subcontractor.
- Oversees development of electrical/electronic, communication and mechanical system(s) at supplier. Required to interface with a wide range of engineering disciplines.
- Ensures proper integration of supplier deliveries with Boeing products.
- Responsible for supplier cost and schedule performance and reporting performance to senior Boeing leadership.
- Direct interface to customer. Ensure most important requirements are understood.
- Conducts and supports trade studies.
- Requires travel approximately 1 week per month.

This position requires an active/current U.S. Security Clearance with successful completion of a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic (Required) Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in an engineering classifications is required.
- Experience developing, qualifying and supporting space hardware and systems.
- Experience working project management in an engineering environment, included technical, cost and schedule management.
Preferred (Desired) Qualifications
- Strong systems engineering skills. Includes supporting the proper flow down of higher level system requirements into verifiable requirements at the hardware and software levels.
Typical Education & Experience
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
