Boeing is seeking experienced Aviation Maintenance Technicians to perform maintenance, preventative maintenance, alterations and inspections on production and experimental aircraft (bothmilitary and commercial) prior to, during and post flight test activities in support of our Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) Flight Test Operations in Seattle, WA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform production installations, maintenance, preventative maintenance and alterations on aircraft structure, systems and sub-systems, including electrical and avionics on standard or experimental certificated aircraft
  • Troubleshoot, inspect, test, repair, service aircraft and engine systems to prepare aircraft for flight
  • Initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures
  • Perform Aviation Maintenance Technician Inspection tasks in order to obtain and maintain knowledge, skills and required certifications
  • Perform audit/surveillance of all manufacturing and quality assurance processes, according to specifications, processes, and procedures
  • Perform Quality functions such as: Customer/FAA Coordination, Configuration Change Verification, Conformity Inspections, Airworthiness Inspections (including Pre-flight and Post-flights), Corrective Action and Investigations
  • Initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures
  • Use technical specifications, sketches, manuals, drawings, engineering instructions and FAA forms and publications to accomplish work assignment
  • Maintain Company and FAA required records and inspection forms
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment
  • Plan and organize the sequence of your own work package in such a way as to promote safe, efficient operation and meet predetermined schedules in a timely manner
  • Operate any and all types of information systems required to perform assigned tasks; including but not limited to Company WEB based systems and Microsoft Office products
  • Interpret and perform to the requirements of airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters and other approved/accepted data
  • Apply applicable mathematical calculations to setup and use precision measuring tools, to measure gaps, heights, angles, hole diameters and depths
  • Make production aids to facilitate work assignment
  • Maintain necessary certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work
  • Exchange information with suppliers, customers or other company representatives to explain or demonstrate operations, tests or difficulties
  • Will stand for frequent periods of time

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location andwill also travel up to 15% of the time domestically and internationally.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • More than 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience on complex jet powered aircraft with military, airline or certificated repair station background
  • Ability to pass a complete fall protection training and work with heights of seventy feet or more and not exceed weight restrictions
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, kneeling and lifting
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays if required

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance
  • More than 5 years of aircraft flight line experience
  • FAA Airframe and Power Plant Certification/License or FAA Repairman Certificate

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Shift:

This position is for 2nd shift. Candidate will be required to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required

Union:

This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinists (IAM-751) Collective Bargaining agreement.

Summary pay range:$33.10/hr - $47.82/hr
