Job Description

Boeing is looking for pilots to join the Production Flight Test organization. These jobs will be located in Seattle at Boeing Field. Primary responsibility will be to do initial flights and customer demonstration flights on newly manufactured 737 airplanes.

 

 The major day to day responsibilities of this role:

  • Plans and conducts production and acceptance test flights.
  • Demonstrates or leads the production acceptance process. Identifies and documents flight deficiencies and coordinates resolution.
  • Plans, coordinates and conducts delivery, ferry, support and functional test flights on production and non-production aircraft.
  • Serves as Pilot-In-Command.

Job requires FAA ATP or commercial certificate with the appropriate endorsements.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a technical or engineering degree and have a background in functional flight test or experimental flight test on Boeing aircraft. You will also need effective communication skills, the ability to build positive working relationships and have a demonstrated ability to work in matrix organizations with people at all levels.

Required qualifications:

  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Possess a current ATP commercial pilots certificate or equivalent military flight experience
  • Experience piloting turbine powered aircraft

Preferred qualifications:

  • Test Pilot School (TPS) graduate

Typical education and experience: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
