Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) is currently seeking a Senior IT Engineer Advance Technologist (Level 4) to help design and develop the next generation of computing environment located in St. Louis, MO.
This position will be looking at current computing trends such as High Performance Computing, Cloud, Virtualization and apply them to the VWC's unique operating environment. Successful candidate will be joining the VWC’s Infrastructure team responsible for management, maintenance and support of the VWC’s computing and Audio Visual infrastructure.
Performs research and development (R&D) of advanced computing technologies. Identifies, evaluates and recommends emerging advanced technology.
Provides subject matter expertise for customer consultations.
Ensures successful deployment of advanced computing technology.
Contributes to the creation and review of R&D proposals.
Assists in forecasting computational needs and capabilities to address future business requirements.
Influences functional decision makers to use appropriate computational tools and processes.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.).
Ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI. Ability to obtain security certifications such as Security+ or equivalent IAT Level 2 certifications per DoD Instruction 8570 (8140) within 3 months of start.
Basic Qualification (Required Skills / Experience)
3+ years of experience leading server technology, infrastructure and services projects (server hardware, operating systems, virtualization, middleware, and cloud enabling software
3+ years’ experience working
1+ years of experience analyzing requirements to develop action plans and facilitate implementation efforts
Ability to obtain security certifications such as Security+ or equivalent IAT Level 2 certifications per DoD Instruction 8570 (8140) within 3 months of start
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
3-5 years’ experience virtualizing P2V utilizing VMWare or other tools
3-5 years’ experience with RedHat Linux
Experience working in a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) environment
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).
