The Boeing Company is seeking a hardware integration architect to join our advanced simulation framework teams located in Seattle, WA, Everett, WA, and Tukwila, WA area.
This team is responsible for development of simulation executive software, utilities and tools used to develop, build and execute complex vehicle simulations. These simulations are used interactively in the cloud, on engineering workstations and in hardware-in-the-loop test bench and flight deck environments. The simulation framework has components in Rust, C/C++, Python, C# and Java, and targets both Windows and Linux platforms, while supporting many simulation to hardware environments.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead the implementation for how software simulations communicate with connected hardware
Create organizational and industry standards, ensure compliance, and develop enterprise solutions
Hardware/Software requirements generation, design, review, coding, testing and configuration management
Lead a team of talented software developers
Dedication to unit testing, test driven development, continuous integration and continuous development practices
Documentation of system architecture, design and operation
Customer support, training, consulting, problem investigation and debugging
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
10+ years' experience in software architecture and design of embedded software systems
5+ years' experience with modern programming and scripting languages such as C++, PERL Python and Visual Basic
5+ years' experience in real-time, near real-time, or embedded systems
5+ years' experience in development, hardware & software qualifications, and/or hardware & software delivery
Experience with presenting to both technical and management audiences
Desired Qualifications:
Enterprise standards (modeling, simulation, build processes)
Software Development environment familiarity (Visual Studio, Eclipse, VS Code)
Strong Python scripting experience
Matlab/Simulink modeling
Working knowledge of various bus protocols, and message traffic analysis and debugging
Experience with containerized software and environments (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, Openshift)
Experience working with virtual machine software (Virtual Box) and emulation techniques
Experience with simulation frameworks
Knowledge of airplane systems
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range$ 161,500 - $218,500
