Job Description

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer to join the Phantom Works Advanced Autonomous Systems Artificial Intelligence team located in St. Louis, MO, Seattle, WA, or Huntsville, AL.

 

The Boeing Phantom Works Advanced Autonomous Systems group is starting up a team that will take the lead in discovering, maturing, and validating the technologies necessary for positioning Boeing to be the leader in Aerospace Artificial Intelligence.  Partnering with both internal and external organizations, this team will provide the technical leadership to develop key enabling technologies, grow our AI portfolio, and execute live demonstrations in support of critical future defense autonomy franchises in Surveillance, Aerial Refueling, Collaborative Teaming and other missions.

 
 

The Software Engineering role in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced team developing the “software brains” of Boeing’s future advanced unmanned aerial vehicles.

 
 
Responsibilities may Include:
  • Design and development of Mission Systems or related Simulation or Ground Systems software
  • Use case development for software requirements
  • Software architecture trade studies and modifications to meet new requirements
  • Interface definition development
  • Unit and integration testing
  • Creation of software documentation
  • Participation in peer reviews
  • Support to system test

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • C++ or Java programming language
  • Linux or Windows development environments
  • Software Service Oriented Architectures
  • Excellent math, probability, & statistics skills
 

Desired Qualifications/Experience:

  • Desired experience includes usage of next gen software development tools such as JIRA, GIT and Jenkins
  • Agile software development processes or use case development
  • Significant experience in the following areas is highly desired:
    • Mission System Architecture
    • Programming in modeling and simulation environments
    • Guidance, Navigation and Control
    • Datalink software development
    • Data fusion and multi-sensor integration software
 

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
