The Boeing Company is currently seeking Technology Generalists to join the Boeing Test and Evaluation organization in Seattle, Washington. This position will serve as technical focal for non-IT applications developed for the direct support of Flight Test Engineering Operations (FTEO).
Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Mid-Level and Senior (Level 4) Technology Generalists.
The Puget Sound-based FTEO team is a large group of highly skilled Engineers and Technical members that plan and execute developmental and certification flight testing of Boeing commercial and military derivatives airplane models. Testing on military derivative programs is conducted globally with commercial testing conducted primarily out of Puget Sound area, WA.
Position Responsibilities:
Identifies computing requirements and confers on system needs
Performs a multi-discipline range of technical systems and application activities
Installs, configures and maintains multi-platform systems hardware, software and components
Develops, designs, integrates and maintains all computer applications
Prepares release planning for software and hardware across the system
Ensures system conforms with architectural objectives
Evaluates complex system's production readiness and supportability
Performs the restoration of routine to complex computing service operations
Integrates security solutions into information systems
Represent FTEO in collaboration with members of the Flight Test Tools & Process team as well as Boeing IT team
This position allows for some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location. Note: this position currently has a requirement of onsite work 3-4 times per week with 1-2 days per week of remote work. This can fluctuate depending on project.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
3+ years of experience using Oracle/SQL for application interactions with databases
3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Project
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience working with Python, Perl, FORTRAN, R, PHP, C++
Experience working with Virtual Machines, WinRemote Desktop Connection
Experience working with C# (ASP.NET web forms), IIS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Experience working with VisualStudio, Azure DevOps, GIT
Bachelor's Degree or higher
Experience being proactive and working through troubleshooting steps
Typical Education:
Mid-Level (Level 3)
Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
Senior (Level 4)
Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 7 or more years’ or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
