Boeing Korea Engineering Technology Center (BKETC) is seeking a Software Engineer to join a dynamic team that is focused on creating and delivering advanced production solutions to the Boeing manufacturing environment. Ensure first pass quality, software coding best practices, and work with stakeholders to ensure BKETC products transition with minimal disruption to the receiving organization.
 
Job roles and responsibilities:
  • Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
  • Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
  • Performs software project management and software supplier management functions.
  • Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics.
  • Executes and documents software research and development projects.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.
  • Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
  • Works under general supervision.
Must want to work within an agile development environment and should also demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. Must enjoy working as part of a larger team, be comfortable voicing and receiving opinions, and adding overall value to the process and solution. Candidate should have prior experience in best practices for development operations and continuous integration methodologies. Familiarity/experience with practices such as test-driven development (TDD), agile software development, and dependency management is preferred. Candidate should also be comfortable being a functional leader for software engineering for a team of interdisciplinary personnel.
 
This requisition is for international, locally hired position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Korea. Boeing will not seek immigration and labor sponsorship for any applicants; this is the responsibility of the job candidate. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S.-based payroll. RELOCATION BENEFITS IF INDICATED ARE LIMITED TO IN-COUNTRY MOVES AND ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR OVERSEAS RELOCATION. THERE IS NO EXPATRIATE PACKAGE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS POSITION.

Qualifications
Typical Education / Experience:
 
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
 
ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
 
Desired Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
  • A degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or Software Engineering or related technical degree
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies for Software Development
  • Experience programming in Object Oriented Languages: C++, Java, Python, etc.
  • Experience using Continuous Integration Platforms
