Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Senior Facilities Electrical Engineer to support our business in Springfield, VA. This organization supports mission critical government programs.
We are hiring an Electrical Engineer with a focus in power subfield (generation, transmission, and distribution of electrical power). Candidate must be familiar with design and implementation of complex industrial and commercial electrical systems, including emergency power generation. To perform this role effectively, you must have extensive experience as an Electrical Engineer.
Position Responsibilities:
• Designing, maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical instruments, facilities, components, or systems for industrial and commercial purposes
• Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment
• Conferring with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects
• Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, and technical drawings
• Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by coordinating installation, construction, maintenance, documentation, support/testing activities
• Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies
• Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials
• Estimating material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation
• Developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures for electrical infrastructure
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at our Springfield, VA. location.
This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.).
Security Clearance/Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
- Experience using SKM software
- Minimum 7 years experience as a Facilities Electrical Engineer
- Ability to obtain a Sensitive Compartmented Information and Counterintelligence Polygraph post-start
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Electrical Engineering degree
- Professional Engineer license in the state of Virginia
- Experience working with U.S. Government customer
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:
