Job Description

Boeing is seeking a Vehicle Engineering Manager/Deputy Program Manager will help lead the Enterprise Team of Space Vehicle Engineers at a Customer Site in Springfield, Virginia. The Vehicle Engineering Manager/Deputy Site Lead will be responsible for leading a team of Spacecraft Engineers to coordinate the integration of new technology and improvements into our on-orbit space vehicles. In addition to the Vehicle Engineering Manager duties, this position will be the Deputy Program manager for a multi-site, multi-contractor Enterprise O&M program. This position will have direct reports, and occasional business travel will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Management and oversight of Vehicle Engineering staffing levels, hiring process, perform performance evaluations, performance development and career counseling
  • Provide Operational Support and Vehicle Engineering Leadership to the Program.
  • Candidate must have Real-time Vehicle Engineering experience
  • Daily interface to Customer leadership
  • Accountable for Vehicle Engineering Mission execution, cost, performance and schedule tasks of the Team
  • Firm Fixed Price CLIN management and must be knowledgeable/proficient in Cost Account Management (CAM) responsibilities
  • Bring innovative technical solutions to enterprise Vehicle Engineering.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or related field (will consider experience in lieu of degree)
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in Vehicle Engineering or related field
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • In depth knowledge of vehicle engineering standards, systems and processes
  • Must be proficient in managing, organizing, and maintaining large quantities of data
  • Knowledgeable with Cost Account Management (CAM
  • Must possess a current and active Top Secret/ SCI security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical writing skills preferred
  • Must have the ability to work both strategically and tactically
  • Previous experience with project planning

 

This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
