Job Description
The Boeing Global Engagement (BGE) function is responsible for the development and execution of enterprise strategies and community investment plans. Additionally, the function leads employee community engagement opportunities and supports Boeing’s Employees Community Fund. The BGE function also serves as the subject matter expert for local community issues and provides recommendations to ensure effective and impactful corporate community engagement.
 
As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to establish and manage relationships with community and business partners by networking, sharing information, and identifying opportunities for collaboration in order to maximize impact in the local community and promote Boeing as a premier corporate citizen. You will promote Boeing’s brand in the community by strategically investing in high impact programs with nonprofits.
 
Responsibilities include the following:
 
Employee Community Engagement
  • Support and execute strategic plan for employee community engagement in St. Louis region that aligns to the BGE employee community engagement strategies.
  • Work with non-profit organizations and schools, as well as University Relations, to develop volunteer opportunities that align to BGE strategies for the region and take the lead in recruiting employees for these activities.
  • Assist with the St. Louis Employees Community Fund by providing appropriate support on issues which include compliance and processing of grants.
  • Represent Boeing at Company sponsored community events, which may at times be outside normal business hours.

Community Investment

  • Support Boeing’s charitable grant process for the St. Louis region.
  • Develop approval justifications for any recommended charitable grants that specifically detail how the grant aligns to appropriate focus area strategy and supports the Boeing brand in the St. Louis region.
  • Support the management of the sponsorship budget allocated to the St. Louis region.
Community Advocacy
  • Convene internal and external partners to collaborate and appropriately leverage charitable resources.
  • Identify how community involvement can support achievement of business objectives.
  • Support collaborative efforts with community leaders in order to promote Boeing’s brand in the St. Louis region, and maximize the company’s corporate citizenship impact.

This position requires significant cross-functional collaboration and cooperation with University Relations, Communications, State and Local, Human Resources, Ethics, and others. Frequent travel within Missouri and the Metro East region of Illinois is required as well as periodic travel outside the St. Louis region to attend functional meetings. Attendance is expected at community events and functions that may at times occur after business hours and on weekends.

Qualifications

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Experience developing and executing project plans.
  • Experience organizing groups of volunteers.
  • Experience in grant making and evaluation.
  • Experience in corporate public affairs.

Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelor's and typically 3 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
