Job Description
The Boeing Defense, Space, and Security team in St. Louis, Missouri is seeking an experienced Mechanical System Design Engineers to support the development and documentation of mechanical systems for aircraft platform armament suspension, release, and doors. This engineer will support the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers.
 
Position Responsibilities:
 
  • Performs detail design development and modification of mechanical installations.
  • Performs spatial integration at system or component level and modification of ordnance systems.
  • Assists in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems.
  • Assists in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts. Works under general supervision.

Qualifications
This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
 
 
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
 
  • Experience in the development, verification, and testing of aircraft armament systems. 


     
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
 
  • Experience using modeling and simulation tools such as Siemens NX, CATIA.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams using systems engineering tools and methodologies to analyze, model, design and develop integrated armament systems.

 
 
Typical Education/Experience:
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
