Job Description

The Boeing AvionX hardware development team is seeking a Senior Guidance, Navigation, and Controls Engineer (Level 4) in St. Louis, Missouri. As a member of Boeing AvionX, you will be developing key electronic systems for use on aircraft and other platforms for core avionics functions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with Flight Control Team to aid in development of control laws and provide feedback for optimal solution.
  • Work with other digital designers to create interface for control laws.
  • Develop and analyze electronic and electrical system requirements
  • Design avionics hardware
  • Design circuit board level test equipment for engineering and lab use
  • Coordinate with suppliers and customers
  • Perform system requirements verification testing
  • Resolve product integration issues and production anomalies
  • Research technologies for potential application to company business needs

Qualifications

Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • Engineering leadership experience
  • 3+ years of experience preparing and presenting to executives
  • Experience creating flight control laws
  • 3+ years of test evaluation in the MATLAB/Simulink environment
  • Experience with Xilinx/Altera tools for synthesis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering discipline with relevant electrical engineering experience or coursework
  • Proven experience generating HDL from Simulink control laws
  • Knowledge of digital logic design and optimizing control laws for fixed-point implementation.
  • Experience with successful on-target testing and integration
  • Experience with Circuit Card, FPGA logic, and infrastructure software design processes
  • Experience with EVM, Boris, Doors, DO-160, DO-254, MIL-STD 461, MIL-STD 704, MIL-810
  • Experience with the following design tools: Mentor Expedition xDX, Mentor Modelsim, PSpice, Xilinx Vivado, Microsemi Libero, and LabVIEW
