Job Description
Boeing Global Services is currently seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the Training and Professional Services (T&PS) organization in St. Louis, MO.  For this role we are seeking an Engineer with a passion in development tool chains and automation to help modernize and maintain our ecosystem of tools that touch hundreds of engineers daily.

In this position, you will work as an integral part of our core engineering tool team to integrate open source, enterprise, and custom tool solutions into local business context to support a fully integrated tool chain. The ideal candidate will have DevOps knowledge and experience, and has previously worked with an array of tools and the application of data in a fast-paced, agile environment.

The specific focus for the DevOps engineer will be around automation and optimization of the tools supporting training system product development, including:
  • Establishing a core continuous integrate (CI) pipeline that product teams can harness to build, test, and integrate full customer solutions
  • Creating scripts and templates to simplify and expedite multi-functional engineers' interactions with the tool chain
  • Building tools that help monitor tool and engineering operations, supplying critical data and reports to executing teams and their stakeholders
  • Working with the larger Enterprise to assure alignment to overall tool strategies and missions, harnessing their tools and resources for the application in the training system development domain
  • Working with IT partners to procure and maintain underlying hardware/software resources

Tools: VersionOne, SharePoint, Tableau, Jenkins, ClearCase, ClearQuest, ReviewBoard, Jira, Code Collaborator, BitBucket, Gitlab, Gitolite

Languages: Python, Javascript, HTML, Git, C/C++, C#

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required)
  • Experience automating product development via scripting/programming
  • 3+ years of experience in Software Development
  • Experience developing software in a continuous integration environment
Desired Qualifications/Experience
  • Strong background in Windows and Linux administration
  • Experience with visualizing data in a programmable language framework (such as jChart or matplotlib)
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks

Typical Education/Experience

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position is contingent upon contract award.
