Job Description
The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer (Level 3) to join the Phantom Works team in St. Louis, MO.  In this role you will work on the Phantom Fusion Demonstration and Pursuits team.

You will serve as an embedded software engineer and help implement capabilities and lead small software development efforts for key demonstration programs and in new business pursuits. Critical skills and experiences are needed to be able to rapidly insert key capabilities to address proof of concept and increase Test Readiness Level (TRL) of application software.
 
Phantom Fusion is the Boeing enterprise open systems architecture (OSA) product line approach to open, secure core computing for the real-time embedded size weight & power (SWAP) constrained avionics environments and is the key element for Mission Systems solutions in future Boeing platforms.

To succeed in this role you should have a demonstrated history of strong performance operating through the full software engineering lifecycle, to include requirements analysis and development, software design, implementation, and unit/integration testing.

Additionally you should be highly motivated and exhibit strong communication, inter-personal, and problem solving skills as well as the ability to work independently and effectively with internal/external customers and subcontractors in an Integrated Product Team environment.

Experience with the following is critical:
  • Full Lifecycle Software Engineering
  • Real-Time Embedded Computing
  • Real Time Operating Systems (VxWorks, Linux, MILS & Embedded Windows)
  • Multiple Programming Languages:  C/C++, Ada, C# and/or Java languages

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required):
  • The ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (post-start)
  • 3+ years of experience in software development
  • Prior experience with C++

Desired Qualifications/Experience:

  • Prior experience with C, Ada, C#, and/or Java
  • Experience with Real-Time Embedded Computing and Real-Time Operating Systems like VxWorks, Linux, Multiple Integrated Levels of Security (MILS) and Embedded Windows

Typical Education/Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
