Job Description


Spectrolab, Inc. is seeking an Accountant (Level 2) to join our Finance team. This position is located at our manufacturing facility in Sylmar, California
Spectrolab is seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Key attributes you should possess include the attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the willingness to assimilate new knowledge. In this role, you will work closely with finance and accounting representatives. You will also work to ensure their functions comply with corporate standards, internal controls as well as Federal regulations.
Position Responsibilities:
Some of your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) -
  • Processing journal entries, accruals and adjustments;
  • Performing financial analyses, preparing balance sheet reconciliations and researching related variances;
  • Ensure both Government and Boeing compliance with key control objectives and risk mitigation measures;
  • Support internal and external audits;
  • Perform other financial and accounting tasks as required.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Have strong knowledge of all aspects of general ledger;
  • Have strong knowledge of Intercompany Work Orders and Intercompany billings;
  • Have an understanding and knowledge of fixed assets processes;
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills to interface with internal and external customers – including employees, accounting business units, and financial institutions;
  • Have strong work ethics and organizational skills;
  • At least 3 years of Accounting/Bookkeeping experience;


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Knowledge of Iron Mountain – COR360
  • Accounting/Bookkeeping experience
  • Federal Government Contractor knowledge
  • Knowledge of SAP

Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree and typically 3 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
