Primary Job Responsibilities
 
The IT International Operations Regional Operations Manager (ROM) is responsible, within the assigned region, for the delivery of Enterprise IT infrastructure services and solutions in support of business needs and objectives.
The region assigned to this position is North Asia.
The ROM manages a geographically dispersed team of IT technicians, and other IT professionals in coordination with other functional groups, ensures the efficient provisioning of IT Operations and Infrastructure services and solutions to internal end users. Such services include desktop support, IT network and back-end infrastructure support, IT service management and governance, tech insertions, upgrades and changes to maintain the IT environment operational and efficient.
The ROM oversees team hiring, staffing, training, performance appraisals and manages training budget. In alignment with the overall Boeing IT&DA global and regional strategies, s/he provides detailed direction, identifies constraints, manages priorities, coordinates resources and ensures that deadlines are respected. The ROM also monitors Service Quality indicators to ensure an effective service delivery and to identify staffing needs to cope with business changes in the assigned region.
The ROM reports to the Senior Leader – Asia Pacific Regional Operations and is dotted-line to the North Asia Regional IT&DA Leader ensuring service delivery aligned with the regional strategy and priorities.   Additionally, the ROM interacts on a regular basis with IT&DA senior managers, business partners and other Enterprise Functions Significant business travel is expected both within the assigned region and to other global sites, as driven by business needs.
Significant flexibility is expected as off-hours activity will be needed to coordinate with a globally dispersed team.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English is absolutely a must. Strong writing, reporting and analytic skills.
  • Strong sensitivity for cultural differences and significant global acumen.
  • Ability to confidently interface with IT&DA senior managers, business partners, Enterprise IT Functions and external IT Service Providers.
  • Project Management experience will be a plus but not a must.
 
Additional Information
 
This position is for an international, locally hired person. 
For Japan based hire only, employment may be offered on a long-term basis, or as a fixed-term one-year contract, depending on business need.
 
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Japan or Korea. Boeing will not seek immigration and labor sponsorship for any applicants; this is the responsibility of the job candidate. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S.-based payroll. RELOCATION BENEFITS IF INDICATED ARE LIMITED TO IN-COUNTRY MOVES AND ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR OVERSEAS RELOCATION. THERE IS NO EXPATRIATE PACKAGE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS POSITION.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Formal qualifications in Information Technology or similar would be desired
  • 3 years experiences managing and/or directing an IT operation
  • Experience in large-scale global Enterprise IT infrastructure solutions and service delivery. 
  • Multi-year hands-on experience in enterprise IT infrastructure support and service delivery.
  • Technical, ITIL and/or Project Management certifications highly desirable.
  • IT / Technical education background.
