Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. is hiring a Software Engineer to join Boeing Defense Canada for the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft engineering sustainment. This position will report to the C-17 Program Engineering and on-site Boeing Manager and will work virtually. The Software Engineer will be required to travel to CFB Trenton, Ontario office periodically and will support the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) C-17 Aircraft at 429 Transport Squadron.
Position Responsibilities
Central Maintenance Computer (CMC) Service point of contact for engineering analysis
Collaborating & working with cross function teams and stakeholders
Research and analyze systems and components to identify aircraft failure conditions with minimum supervision
Product notification, reports for failure root cause and develop maintenance corrective action
Technical request reports as requested for Flight Data Monitory
Proactively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work
Must be willing to work flexible hours to interface with Boeing personnel around world
Demonstrate strong written, oral, interpersonal communication skills, and have a high degree of proficiency with MS Office tools
Required Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
1+ years of Software Engineering experience
Experience working with Python or other scripting Languages
Must have post-secondary education in a related field of study
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
Candidate must consent to Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment
Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Experience working within the aerospace industry
Prefer 2+ years of Canadian Department National Defence (DND)/ Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Airworthiness Program
Prefer 2+ years Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) integrated lifecycle management/sustainment of C-17 Weapon System
Active Secret level II clearance is preferred
Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
This requisition is for a, locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
